Langlands Phase 2

This phase of the Langlands project involved the development of a class 6 warehouse and single storey class 4 office building with associated car parking and service yard within the already established Kelvin South Business Park in East Kilbride.

We provided architectural services as part of a Design & Build contract to develop the buildings on a speculative basis.

The goal was to meet the growing demand for storage and distribution facilities in the area by designing a functional building with clear floor plates and modern finishes to attract future tenants. It was a challenging site with soft areas of ground due to its history as a quarry. Our design had to make efficient use of space, overcoming this challenge as well as avoiding wayleaves for sewers and high voltage underground cables which crossed the site and could not be relocated.

Photovoltaic (PV) panels on the roof generate zero-carbon energy along with air source heat pumps to provide heating throughout the building. To further achieve energy efficiency, the building makes use of high thermal performance cladding. The project was completed to high standards, offering a future-proofed space in a prime location for storage and distribution.
