EDI Group Ltd was in serviced office accommodation whilst looking for another city centre location to accommodate their expanding team of property development professionals. SPACE was tasked with planning out the space to provide meeting spaces, a staff tea prep, a breakout area and an informal reception area.
The brief was to create a modern, exciting, functional office space and to incorporate as much of their existing furniture, most of which had been put into storage. This was to cut down the budget and waste of perfectly useable furniture.
The office space had been newly refurbished by the landlord and so required very few finishes. However, in order to personalize the space for EDI new timber effect vinyl flooring was used throughout the reception and corridor areas. The new staff tea prep and breakout rooms were also given new vibrant vinyl flooring.
Although well provided with meeting spaces, we formed a glazed informal meeting space within the open plan office area, which was decorated with a colourful image of a treescape and brought a feeling of nature and sunshine into a space where natural daylight was not in abundance. By retaining the neutral white walls, this allowed the artwork from the client to provide a vibrant burst of colour throughout the open plan office space.
