Workplace design and management consultancy, Space Solutions, have been commended by The Aberdeen Society of Architects (ASA) Design Awards 2024 for their office refurbishment project with Piper Sandler.
The award recognises SPACE’s architectural skill and quality design as part of the major renovation of Piper Sandler’s office, located in Waverley Place, Aberdeen.
By modernising the 15,800 sq. ft. Grade B office building, SPACE’s architectural design helped to nurture a strong team culture and flexibility by incorporating spaces that supported both working groups and sociable downtime. The design also respected the building’s historic features while reflecting the global identity of Piper Sandler, integrating local artwork and timeless furniture pieces from the original office.
Alongside the internal fit-out, by upgrading the heating system to an energy-efficient electric heat pump system, supported by the installation of a consultant-designed LED lighting layout throughout, SPACE created a workspace that is fit for the future.
Real estate advisor CBRE handled the lease renewal negotiation and managed the renovation project on behalf of Piper Sandler with the team being completed by Building Services Engineers KJ Tait.
