Gerald Eve
At the end of their lease, real-estate business Gerald Eve wanted to create a new home where they could be proud to welcome clients.
- Location: St Vincent Street, Glasgow
- Duration: 5 weeks
- Project Size: 230 sqm
- Type/Service: Design & Build, Interior Design, Space Planning
Overview
We worked with them on this project from beginning to end, ensuring their new space on St Vincent Street met all their requirements. The renovation successfully achieved its objectives of providing a spacious and well-designed workspace for the company’s expansion. By incorporating natural light, distinct meeting rooms, and brand elements, the office effectively showcases Gerald Eve’s Scottish presence.
Approach
Gerald Eve’s key aims for their move were to provide enough space for their expanded employee base, to create a more attractive and flexible working environment to suit modern working practices, to establish a strong brand presence in their office, and to integrate sustainability. We collaborated with them on this Design & Build project, supporting them through planning and procurement, design, pre-construction and building stages.
Brand unity
At the heart of the plans was a desire to create an integrated look and feel with the client’s bases in other locations, while maintaining a touch of originality. This was created by taking influence from other offices within their estate and adapting it to fit the Glasgow premises. As part of achieving this, we incorporated a prominent skyline graphic in the interior, and replicated this theme along the front of all the offices.
Sustainability
In order to meet Gerald Eve’s sustainability goals, we proactively highlighted sustainable material choices. We provided information on upholstery fabrics with fully recycled content, emphasising the environmental benefits to support their choices. Additionally, where possible, we utilised existing resources to reduce waste.
The renovation achieved its objectives of providing a spacious and well-designed workspace. A standout feature is the meeting rooms, which, with a calming sage colour scheme and exposed natural wood decor, provide a contrasting ambiance with the main office. The collaborative effort between the Gerald Eve team and our design team resulted in a space that reflects the company’s identity while incorporating unique Scottish touches.
