Architect

About the Role

We’re looking for an enthusiastic, technical, and design-motivated Architect to join our growing team in Glasgow. You will be good at managing people, time, and resources and have an ability to work flexibly in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Develop robust top-level project plans
  • Manage project resources, ensuring optimum profitability while still achieving creative excellence
  • Negotiate consultant and contractor appointments where relevant
  • Manage issues arising in production and ensure these are communicated early to line managers
  • Produce weekly production and budget control status reports
  • Deal directly and personally with key clients on higher level problems
  • Provide leadership assistance and support to the project team

About You

You’re highly organised with excellent time and project management skills, able to ensure projects are monitored for effective delivery. You’ll have a sound knowledge of production information processes in-line with alternative procurement processes and be at ease navigating statutory and legal requirements. You’ll possess the ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of customers and internal stakeholders and be resilient in managing demanding high-level relationships and client expectations.

Qualifications and Experience

  • RIBA Part 3 essential
  • Ideally a minimum of 5 years’ previous relevant commercial experience

Skills and Other Requirements

  • Able to manage multiple projects regularly running concurrently or overlapping
  • Able to anticipate problems and respond creatively and proactively
  • Identify and highlight when projects are not on-schedule
  • Motivate production personnel to encourage high-quality performance and conduct
  • Understand the budgeting process, creating accurate budgets and delivering projects in-line with budgetary requirements
  • Possess proactive and persuasive communication skills
  • Strong AutoCad skills. Revit a plus but not essential.

Based in Edinburgh, Dundee or Glasgow, this role will benefit from a hybrid working model, mixing home and office working.
