Architectural Technologist

About the Role:

We have an exciting opportunity to join our growing North East Scotland studio. This would ideally suit someone with around 5 years of commercial architecture experience looking to build and develop their career. If you’re enthusiastic, technically minded, and want to work as part of a team delivering a wide range of projects in the commercial sector, we want to hear from you!

The role will be to provide technical building design services and solutions and you will already be trained in architectural technology, building technology design, and construction.

Responsibilities

  • Develop robust top-level project plans
  • Manage project resources, ensuring optimum profitability while still achieving creative excellence
  • Negotiate consultant and contractor appointments where relevant
  • Manage issues arising in production and ensure these are communicated early to line managers
  • Produce weekly production and budget control status reports
  • Deal directly and personally with key clients on higher-level problems

About You

You’re highly organised with excellent time and project management skills, able to ensure projects are monitored for effective delivery. You’ll have a sound knowledge of production information processes in-line with alternative procurement processes and be at ease navigating statutory and legal requirements. You’ll possess the ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of customers and internal stakeholders and be resilient in managing demanding high-level relationships and client expectations.

Qualifications and Experience

  • HND or degree in Architecture and you will have knowledge and application of the Scottish Technical Handbook.
  • You will have good knowledge of AutoCAD and 3D modelling.

  • Commercial Awareness: Understand the budgeting process, creating accurate budgets and delivering projects in-line with budgetary requirements
  • Communication: Possess proactive and persuasive communication skills
  • Leadership: Foster and promote a strong team ethic

Based in Dundee or Aberdeen, this role will benefit from a hybrid working model, mixing home and office working.
