About the Role
We’re looking for a passionate, customer-focused Interior Designer to join our studio team in Glasgow. You will be part of a professional, dynamic, and creative design team delivering a wide variety of challenging and rewarding projects.
Responsibilities
- Assist in driving the studio team towards innovative design outputs, targeting advancement in quality and reputation
- Inspire colleagues and clients while keeping pace of current trends and products
- Interpret a client brief to develop innovative design solutions
- Collaborate with the technical and project teams to ensure successful project delivery in-line with a client’s aspirations
- Understand and control time allowances made on each project and advise when you see any variances or requests to carry out additional scope
- Generate aesthetic ideas based on clients’ needs and establish creative briefs
- Work closely with the wider team: quantity surveyors to establish costs and work schedules, architects to determine the best use of space, manufacturers, and construction workers
- Acquire key information about potential projects, discussing requirements in more detail with studio team
- Provide day-to-day project support to senior designers
About You
You must demonstrate strong interiors and planning skills and creative knowledge within the commercial design sector. You will have a passion and strong aptitude for developing and maintaining client relationships and display proactive communication skills.
Qualifications and Experience
- Educated to an Interior Design Honours Degree is preferred
- 3+ years’ work experience in the commercial sector will be beneficial
Skills and Other Requirements
- Develop creative images, both by hand and using 3D software
- Survey buildings and conduct feasibility studies for projects
- Research, record, and analyse information
- Write meeting minutes and general admin tasks
- Consider materials and costs according to set budgets
- Provide samples for clients
- Attend site walk-rounds as part of project meetings
- Be skilled in the use of AutoCAD, Revit skills a plus but not essential
- Keep up to date with new developments in the design industry
